I hadn’t heard of California, Missouri until I met our beautiful bride, Emily, who is getting married here at Fresh Air Farm this Saturday. Her soon-to-be husband, Kipton, is from Cameron, Missouri but they are both now living in Overland Park, Kansas. Kipton, or Kip as Emily calls him, spends his days at CertainTeed Manufacturing while Emily works for the Northland Passage Apartment Community as a Leasing Manager. After meeting right here in Kansas City years ago, these two had their first date at Carmen’s Café in Brookside.
Just about 4 years later, in the mountains of Colorado, Kip popped the question! They were at Bear Lake in Estes Park, to be exact! How scenic and memorable that would have been! Emily said, “I was completely surprised! It was so perfect and romantic.” Oh, I can imagine!
Emily chose Ed Sheeran “Tenerife Sea” for their first dance as husband and wife. She said “I chose it because Ed Sheeran writes true and honest romantic songs. When I bought his latest album, before Kip and I were engaged, I thought ‘Oh this would be the best first dance song’”. Well, it looks like it was meant to be!
On their wedding day, which is right around the corner, these two are looking forward to their families meeting each other and enjoying the great outdoors together. They are also excited about the rustic vibe of the farm, which they say is perfect for themselves and their families. As for their happily ever after?! They picture a child…or two, a new house with the white picket fence and all and their handsome dog, Nigel, playing in the backyard. Sounds pretty perfect! But first, the wedding!
