It’s November and the Royals won the World Series! What’s even better, though, is that we have the cutest couple getting married this weekend. Jeremiah McFerrin and MacKenzie Oatman will be walking down the aisle in a few short days! They are both originally from Kansas, MacKenzie from Overland Park and Jeremiah from Wichita. It all started back when they were still in high school at Jeremiah’s church when he gave MacKenzie a few dollars to put in the offering plate! Who would have thought!?
Scoth and Sirloin, a delicious steak house in Wichita, was where this sweet couple had their first date. They must have been on to something because they dated for 7 ½ years after that night! Now living in Roeland Park, Kansas, they are both financial consultants and deeply in love. When asked what Jeremiah loves the most about MacKenzie, he said “My favorite thing about Mackenzie is her passion for everything that she does”. MacKenzie said “My favorite thing about Jeremiah is his kindness”. Awwww!
The proposal was a surprise for MacKenzie, and for everyone else in the area I’m sure, because Jeremiah popped the question when they were walking out of a CVS parking lot! I’m sure she will never look at a CVS the same way. Now, their honeymoon will look a little different because they are thinking about going to Italy this summer! Sounds amazing if you ask me!
Jeremiah said the thing he is looking forward to the most about marriage is “making memories together”. MacKenzie said “I’m most looking forward to spending the rest of my life with my best friend”. This wonderful couple is keeping their first dance song a secret! They said “We heard it playing one day at the mall and both looked at each other and said ‘this is it’”. Well I can’t wait to see what it is!
We are so excited for them to celebrate here with us and they are too! They said “We are most looking forward to the laid back and cozy feel of the barn. We didn’t want to have an uptight wedding, we wanted this to be a family affair where everyone can enjoy themselves. Fresh Air Farm has kept me sane by helping us plan every detail. We can’t wait for the big day!!”
