Andrew Bishop and Dawn Kidwell might just be the funniest couple that Fresh Air Farm has gotten the chance to work with. (I think you will pick up on that pretty quick as you continue reading!) Not only are they quick witted, but they have a passion for life that just pours out of them. I can definitely see why they were drawn to each other.
Dawn is originally from Independence, Missouri “Go Tigers!” while Andrew is from Omaha, Nebraska “Go Huskers!”, but they now are living in Blue Springs, Missouri “Go Royals!” (You can say that again!) They are both “marketing folks” and that is actually how they met, at work! “It was very Jim and Pam” they added.
Depending on who you ask you will get a different response regarding what their first date was. Dawn swears it was at a Jacks Mannequin concert, while Andrew argues that it was a sushi dinner. However, they can both now agree that they “still love sushi but not so much Jacks Mannequin….just saying”.
The proposal happened on Christmas, with the ring being the last present under the tree. Now, that would get anyone to tear up! Well hold onto that tissue because it gets even sweeter…. Dawn told us that her favorite thing about Andrew is that “Andrew lives every minute of his life the fullest. He has given me the confidence to embrace the unknown and take on more adventures than I could even imagine. He tells terrible jokes, but can cut a rug. He sometimes says the wrong things, but knows exactly when I need a hug. He helped me find my faith in God and how to love fearlessly. If my life was already a great book, he’s the highlighter, making everything brighter and clearer.” Andrews response to the same question was; “Plain and simple, Dawn makes me a better person. She challenges me in the best ways possible. I love her for being able to put up with my stubbornness. I love her energy, vigor for life, spontaneity, generosity, and genuine kindness. She is so quick with a joke and makes living life so much more fun and enjoyable“. I told you not to put the tissue down!
Now, I don’t know about you but I’m ready to see if Andrew can really cut a rug! Speaking of, what will they be dancing to for their first song?! Dawn actually proposed the song first but they both knew right when they heard it that it was “the winner”. They love the “soulful romance of the song and how it embodies their feelings for each other as a couple that no other song could quite capture”. They also love “the message that even though some things in life may get you down, just being together makes life worth living”. And the song is……A SURPRISE!
When asked what they are looking forward to the most about getting married here at the farm, they said; “After viewing several venues before the barn and each having differing opinions, Fresh Air Farm was the first place that truly made an impression on us both. It is rustic yet elegant with a flare of fun. It is secluded and serene and we love the indoor/outdoor aspect. Fresh Air Farm’s true charm is in the tiny details that help us tell our story as a couple. We can’t wait to share the evening in a wonderland place, just for us, with our family and friends.” As for marriage itself, they are most excited about; “only having to pay for one healthcare plan….just kidding!” But really, they are ready to continue all the stuff they love to do together now such as going to concerts, movie watching, Netflix binge sessions, biking down volcanoes (yes….you read that right!), cheering on the Royals, dance contests, traveling, loving friends and family and finding new adventures!
And the plans after the big I dos? They will be enjoying a relaxing weekend at the lake right after the wedding but are planning a trip to Europe in 2016! I can see more biking down volcanoes type of adventures in their future for sure!
Andrew and Dawn’s happily ever after can be summed up by this; “We fell in love with each other because we both have a passion for life that we yearn to share with other people. After a fun evening or event, we will look at each other and mutually agree, ‘we draw good company.’ Our happily ever after keeps us close to our friends, growing with our families and making memories that count. We want a life, a real life, filled with adventures, love, faith and each other.”
We wish that and so much more for this good-humored, adventurous, loving couple that will become husband and wife in just a few days! Congratulations Andrew and Dawn!
