Fresh Air Farm is looking forward to the wedding of Erin Musil and Nathan Miller this weekend! Erin and Nathan are both Kansas born, but are currently living in Savannah, Georgia. They met in a small church group when Nathan was stationed in Ft. Leavenworth, and soon after went on their first date which was at… either Piropos in Parkville or Manifesto downtown (this is still debatable). After two years of dating while Nathan was stationed in Afghanistan, and then Savannah, Nathan made a trip up to Kansas City to ask the big question. Here is the romantic story:
“The vast majority of our relationship has been long distance. We met in KC and began dating after knowing each other for about 6 months. We began dating only a couple of months before Nathan deployed to Afghanistan for a year, and when he got back, he was stationed in Savannah. During the fall and winter of 2013, we made a lot of trips back and forth to visit each other. In January, Erin decided it was time to move to Savannah, and set a move date for the middle of March. Over Super Bowl weekend, Nathan came to visit Erin in KC, and made a quasi-secret trip to meet up with Erin’s dad to ask his permission to propose. Nathan told Erin he wanted to come visit one more time before she moved to take her to some of their favorite KC spots. On March 1, he flew in to KC in a blizzard, and picked Erin up. He took her to Manifesto, where they had spent time together for the first time one on one… and after a turn of events, they ended up sharing a table with two other random couples. Nathan had intended to take her to Piropos Grill, but because they were only taking reservations for private dining – and the roads were getting really nasty – they went upstairs for steaks at the Rieger Hotel. When they got in the car, Nathan said he wanted to go one more place. Erin was listening intently to the K-State basketball game as they drove to their final spot. At this point, with the weather outside no one in their right mind would be going to a park, but that’s where they went. Nathan stopped the car in the middle of Shawnee Mission Park, where one of Erin’s best friends was hiding behind a tree shivering, waiting for them so she could snap some pictures. After convincing Erin to get out of the car, they sat on a bench with lanterns and blankets on it, and Nathan got down on one knee and asked Erin to marry him. (She said yes!)”
After their big day Erin and Nathan plan on going to French wine country (take me with you!) and already have fun activities planned such as hiking, biking, and kayaking. They are most looking forward to settling down with each other and living their happily ever after which they say is “Living life committed to each other, no matter where we go or what life throws at us.” … Swoon!!
The grass is being cut and the tents are being staked and Fresh Air Farm is ready to be the backdrop for the beginning of this beautiful love story.
