In News, Wedding

This week’s featured couple is Karla and Douglas from St. Joseph, Missouri. This lovely couple met right after college, but went their separate ways and lost touch as the real world set in. In 2006, they both relocated to Kansas City for their jobs, and have fate would have it a mutual friend reconnected them and they started right back where they left off.

After a few years of dating Doug knew it was time to pop the question. He decided he should use their beloved dog to present the ring to Karla, so he tied the ring box around his collar with a note that said “Will you marry me?”. With so much anticipation built up Doug tied the ring too early and ended up playing fetch with the dog in the back yard just to keep him distracted (after all, that was one expensive collar he had on!). Karla accepted Doug’s proposal (I’m sure Fido got a big bone) and here we are today!

In lieu of a traditional wedding the couple already got eloped in a private ceremony in Tofino, British Columbia. From there they went on to explore Victoria Island and even traveled to Vancouver to finish off their grand honeymoon!

Karla and Doug are most looking forward to having their reception at Fresh Air Farm so they can have a fun, casual gathering in a rustic setting to celebrate their marriage with family and friends.
