It’s time to channel some creative energy and create one-of-a-kind ways to wrap your gifts. Don’t let yourself get psyched out, this is supposed to be fun and you can always include the kids!
-Paper doilies of any size layered over your wrapping paper starts this look off. All that’s left to do is wrap some red and white twine around the gift several times and attach three silver bells in place of a bow. All of these items can be found in most craft stores such as Hobby Lobby.
-Another way to complete your wrapped gift is by using fresh cut greenery. Mistletoe would work as well. Then just attach an ornament of your choosing, like we did here, and you have a little something extra for the lucky recipient.
-Remember potato stamps? We carved out a Christmas tree for this example. You could do stars, circles, or any shape that pops into your mind. This is easy to create and so much fun to do. Wrap the finished product with some bright colored yarn and top it with a pompom! You can either stamp before you wrap or after. This is a perfect way to get the kids involved. The paint, yarn and pompom can be found at most craft stores, such as Hobby Lobby.
-If you aren’t feeling the potato stamping, you can also purchase a stamp of your choosing. Be careful if the wrapping paper is slick because the stamps will easily slide and cause smearing. We would suggest using paper with a matte finish to avoid this potential problem. This gift was then wrapped several times with some jute twine and instead of a bow, we used a wooden snowflake we found at a craft store. The stamp, ink, and snowflake can be found at Hobby Lobby.
-Here is a very unique look created with a homemade snowflake, colorful yarn, and beautiful pheasant feathers. The little ones will love making the snowflakes! Pheasant feathers can be a little trickier to find but it is possible! Hobby Lobby, Cracker Barrel, and some wholesale florists sell them.
-If you are still wanting a bow but not the typical one you buy in a bag, you can always make your own like we did here. This one is over-sized and made from craft paper, however, you could use ribbon to achieve a more organic look rather than this structured one. Most craft stores, such as Hobby Lobby, sell large assortments of craft paper and ribbon.
Happy wrapping!
