In Couple's Spotlight, News

New York meets Kansas is what we have going on this weekend at the farm. Hannah, our bride, grew up in Lenexa, Kansas while Ian, our groom, grew up in Manhasset Hills, New York. However, neither of them live either of those places now. Hannah is currently living in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma and Ian is living in San Antonio, Texas but will be moving in June to Fort Campbell, Kentucky. Always on the move these two! But, we are so thrilled to have them getting married here at Fresh Air Farm Saturday!

These two ended up meeting in Manhattan, Kansas at a Halloween party. They have been together for a total of 4 ½ years with 3 years of that dating and a little over 1 ½ years of being engaged. But, it all started with their first date at PF Changs on the Plaza.

The proposal itself happened at Loose Park, here in Kansas City and Ian made sure it was a complete surprise! He was given a family heirloom diamond from Hannah’s mother and he had it reset. He even had a photographer hidden for the big moment!!! After Hannah said yes, they enjoyed a celebratory dinner at McCormick & Schmicks on the Plaza. Following that, they headed off to a planned engagement party at a close friend of Hannah’s home. He seriously thought of every detail! Go Ian!

These two are definitely some very busy people and we can’t wait for them to relax and enjoy their big day! Hannah is currently a Petrotech Engineer with Chesapeake Energy and Ian is a Captain in the United States Army. They will be putting work aside this weekend though….to get married! Hannah is most excited about enjoying the atmosphere, the fireworks, and the beautiful serenity of the outdoors here at the farm while Ian is looking forward to having an unforgettable evening in an unforgettable place surrounded by their loved ones! They will be dancing the night away this Saturday, but to kick it all off, they will be having their first dance together as husband and wife to a song called ‘Coming Home’ by Leon Bridges. They actually discovered this artist together at the Austin City Limits music festival last year. They said that they loved the Motown vibe of the song. We can’t wait to hear it!

When asked about their favorite thing about one another, Hannah said, “Honestly, listing one favorite thing is difficult for me, but I love Ian’s sense of humor.” Ian said, “I love her work ethic and determination. It’s admirable to say the least.” How about what they are both looking forward to most about marriage?  Hannah said “Tax breaks. Just kidding! Traveling the world together and looking forward to what the future holds.” Ian said, “Having my partner in crime at my side on a full-time basis. I’d be lying if I said I wasn’t excited about Hannah’s cooking too.” Perfect answers!!!

So, after they get hitched here at Fresh Air Farm, they will be making a getaway to Moorea and Bora Bora for their honeymoon! Sounds absolutely fantastic! And for their happily ever after… Hannah is picturing spending what they have of this life together and never letting life get boring and Ian is imagining health, happiness, and a place to call their own! We wish all of that and more to them! Congrats you two! It’s time to celebrate!
